NOVEMBER 1995

After the groundbreaking ACHTUNG BAYLEAF, its surprise companion album FOODROPA, and the trailblazing FOOD TV tour, UCHEW were bubbling with creative cooking juices and lent their talents to help their friend Brian Beano into making a vanity record full of squiggly sounds and techno gooblygook after spending too much time in nighttime Tokyo. They coined the new partnership PASTA DISHES. Larry Melon Jr. hated the project because it was less about drums and more about Pachinko machines. No follow-up was made because accountants took a look at the sales numbers and committed seppuku en masse, leading to an internal ban on bands volunteering their talents for their own producers. But at least the catering was excellent. Lucianno Pastarotti, the famous Italian opera singer and gourmand, insisted on tagging along after smelling the food from several miles away. They also recruited artists such as Chuck 'Sunny' D and Scottish-DJ Howie 'Vitamin' B12. The album spawned the instant classic song MISS JALAPEÑO.

PLUG

PARODY OF SLUG

You’ll want this new dessert

You’ll want to swig some ‘Squirt’

You’ll want our beer to flirt

This’ll help to lose that girth

You’ll want this in your mug

Don’t mind this paid-for-plug

You’ll want to acquiesce

You’ll want to just say ‘yes’

You’ll want to brush with Crest

Got milk? It’s the best!

You’ll want red Mountain Dew

You’ll want this cuz it’s blue

You’ll want these for hors d’oeuvres

You’ll want tea for your nerves

You’ll want without reserve

You’ll want our ‘single serve’

You’ll want only brand names

You’ll want organic grain

Now with Aspartame

Newly improved but same

YOUR BREW ROOM

PARODY OF YOUR BLUE ROOM

It’s time to go again

To your brew room

Get some bottles to drink with you

In your brew room

The air is frigid

There’s lots of beer

I always liked hangin’ round here

It’s a different kind of concoction

Your brew room

It’s a labour of love

You can see the pride

It’s a labour of love

I’m jealous inside

It’s not a place for the girls

Your brew room

See the mural of women bare

Your brew room

And I rave...I am affective

Looking at you...I am subjective

New constructions

For a whole new section

For your brew room

It’s a labour of love

You can see the pride

It’s a labour of love

I’m jealous inside

It’s alright

Your brew room

Sure beats my wine rack

Your brew room

Yeah, I hope one day I’ll copy that

Your brew room

See me inbibe

When you take me back there

So much fun to me

“Coming in, chillin’ out

Nothing better without a doubt

A place that can never close

Some place that no one knows

Never kicked out

Never walk home

It’s got its charms

Want one of my own!”

A DIFFERENT KIND

OF FOOD

PARODY OF A DIFFERENT KIND OF BLUE

Those jars

Pure goo

One's called: 'Just Pear'

Kid sneers

We try

He's miffed

And cries

With just one bite he's eschewed

A different kind of food

He fights

And whines

Arms fold

Face blue

He's small

But spry

His chair

A blight

With just one bite he'll eschew

A different kind of food

We're not quite breaking through

With a different kind of food

MISS JALAPEÑOS

PARODY OF MISS SARAJEVO

Is there a time for weeping one instance

A time to burn your eyes away

Is there a time for heaping on a pound

Forgetting that you will pay

Is there a time for Pollo with a kick

A time for spicy fare

Is there a time for high heat topping

You find it'll mess your underwear

Here are Tums

Heartburn profound

Here are Tums

This ache shut down

Is there a time for some stuffed poppers

A time for Taco Bell

Is there a time for different peppers

Different strains you find 'em hot as hell

Is there a time for your first Chicharrón

A time to eat 17

Is there a time to turn to Sriracha

Is there a time to eat some refried beans

Here are Tums

Stomach upside down...

Here are Tums

You kneel to the ground!

“Desea que los frijoles

Tacos sería agradable

Vienen con guacamole y gorditas de carne

Nachos con chile y tamales calientes

Desea que los frijoles

Los frijoles

Un amor para los pimientos

¡Un amor que no se puede

Dejar de fumar!

Lo que es un amor

Que te deja quemar

Lo que es un amor

Que te deja quemar ahora”

Translation:

You want the Frijoles

Tacos would be nice

They come with Guac

And Gorditas With Meat

Nachos With Chile

And Hot Tamales

You want the Frijoles

The Frijoles

A love for peppers

A love that you cannot quit!

What a love

That leaves you burning

What a love

That leaves you burning now

Is there a time for frying ripe ones

A time for a dip with cheese

Is there a time for being able

To eat despite Reflux Disease

I DO EAT LIKE SHIT

PARODY OF ITO OKASHI

Let's talk about

Something nutritional

On my face there is girth

Something scary I must lose

About something

That is wasteful

Like Ring Dings

That makes the heart clog faster

Certainly something

I’m wary I’m digesting

Eat you soon

Flail through your room

You're meat I'll tear

Hey

Plea and fend

Pray

It's the end

Don't run away

Hey...hey...hey...hey...

Hey

You dare cough

Don't block my way

Don't feel it's over, prey

Hey...hey...hey...

Braaaaaains

Dead walking

Braaaaaains

I must eat

Your...braaaaaains

Chase so long

Braaaaaains

I hiss

Braaaaaains

Dead walking

Braaaaaains

I must eat

Braaaaaains

I chase so long

And I chase so long

Chase so long
